When training to become an Indy Car Series Racer, drivers have to take the time to really improve the quality of their drive, and must put in hours a day, for the training they will be doing. Other than this, they are going to have to have the natural ability and skill level, which is required to race at such a high level of competition, and they are going to be required to have the level of competition, which they are always looking to take the title. Racers at this level are not able to make mistakes, and they are not able to try to make up for a small error they make on the track during a big race. So, in order to compete at this level, the driver has to be well aware of the race, the other drivers, and what they are required to do, in order to win a race at this level of competition. So, other than having the skill and dedication, a driver really has to be willing to put in the time, and know what is required of them, to compete at such high levels of competition, against other world class dirvers in the series.
