Everyone is learning to drive all over again at Edmonton. This year it has been a quick course for the drivers, one on how to drive in the Edmonton Indy Car Series. Nothing is more frustrating so far than the weather that is after the eventful racing days as they are beginning. Drivers and crews had to bide their time waiting in the downpour of rain, but others found out the problems that can occur from water weight when it disrupts or tears their racing awning and all their rain protection.
Rain has decreased the amount of practice time and laps for all competition car drivers. The current schedule will be tighter and less timely than anyone out there had anticipated. One practice before qualifying for any race is very rarely enough familiarity with the track, time changes or to find the proper equipment setup. Drivers want to get a feel for how water is going to alter the navigation of the racing course. There is a lot of fun and anxious energy as drivers prepare to navigate the quick corners on the track. Lots of action is to be expected and fans are more than ready for it to begin.
